Polished Concrete
Polished Concrete
Polished concrete is a way to achieve durability, all the while retaining the natural beauty of the concrete. With many different sheen and cut levels, there are many ways meet expectations/taste.
The Different Classes
Class A: the cream is left on the top of the concrete providing a uniform look to the concrete when polished
Class B: Light aggregate exposure, a fine exposure of the natural rocks in the concrete
Class C: Heavy aggregate exposure, the concrete is honed down to the point that the aggregate in the concrete will be very noticeable, and a big part of the aesthetics.
Sheen Levels
Matte Finish: matte finish, is a 200 grit polished floor that provides very little reflectivity, but is the easiest to maintain in a heavy foot trafficked area.
Satin finish: 400 grit polish that provides the easy maintenance of matte, while providing slightly more sheen
Semi-Polished: 800 grit polish, with a 1500 grit burnish. This sheen level will provide semi-reflectivity of object
Highly Polish: 1500/3000 grit polish with a 3000 grit burnish. this polish provides full reflectivity of an object (even at a distance) and draws the attention of any room where it is desired
